BRETHREN SERVICE CENTER
The Brethren Service Center (BSC) in New Windsor, Maryland, has been helping people in need for more than fifty years. Owned and operated by the Church of the Brethren General Board, BSC houses organizations that work in areas of relief and development, disaster response, social justice and peace education. The facilities include the New Windsor Conference Center, Emergency Response/Service Ministries, SERRV International, Inc., On Earth Peace Assembly (OEPA) and the administrative offices of Interchurch Medical Assistance, Inc. (I.M.A.).

Emergency Response/Service Ministries works in three areas: Disaster Response which provides home repairs and rebuilding for persons affected by natural disasters and also provides child care immediately after natural disasters;
Refugee Resettlement which works with local congregations and related agencies to find sponsors for refugees to help them adjust to life in a new culture and become self-sufficient and the
Distribution Center which packs and ships clothing, medical supplies and other material resources to those in need around the world. The Distribution Center ships for twenty two organizations including Interchurch Medical Assistance, Inc., Church World Service, Lutheran World Relief and the American Red Cross.

is a movement grounded in the Church of the Brethren dedicated to following the teaching of Jesus Christ in renewing an living out our biblical and denominational heritage of peace. Programming is carried out through peace retreats with junior and senior high youth, through the Ministry of Reconciliation and through "Peace Baskets" which are full of resources available for loan to congregations.

New Windsor Conference Center - Hosts about 9,000 people annually who come here for one-day or overnight conferences, individual or group retreats, meetings and tours. During the year, Food Service feeds an additional 2,000 one-day volunteer workers thus serving a total of 40,000 meals annually to Conference Center guests, Brethren Service Center employees and long-term resident volunteers.

In the past five years, I.M.A. delivered, through the Brethren Service Center, $86 million worth of essential medical products to over 50 countries for overseas emergency, health and development programs of interest to the member agencies. I.M.A. is also helping to control River Blindness and Lymphatic Filariasis disease problems in Tanzania and Haiti.
