We are very pleased that you are interested in learning more about how you can help with the Children's Disaster Services (CDS) program. Here are several ways you can be supportive of the child care ministry:

Volunteer Opportunities:

1. Children's Disaster Services Volunteer: All volunteers must complete a Level I (27 hour) training workshop and all other requirements to become a certified Children's Disaster Services volunteer. Click here for more information.
   
   
2. Support Volunteers: Additional volunteers are needed for sewing the Children's Disaster Services vest/smock.
   
   
3. Sponsoring Organizations: Churches or organizations looking for ways to make a difference in the lives of children are needed to sponsor a Children's Disaster Services training workshop. This event is usually initiated by a current Children's Disaster Services volunteer. Our greatest need is to train additional volunteers in the southern part of the United States.

Financial Support:

Children's Disaster Services is supported by the Church of the Brethren Emergency Disaster Fund, which receives contributions from individuals, organizations, churches, districts and their special fund-raising events such as disaster response auctions.

Contributions can be made payable to the Emergency Disaster Fund, earmarked for Children's Disaster Services, and sent to Brethren Disaster Ministries, PO Box 188, 601 Main Street, New Windsor, MD 21776.
