In 2007, Brethren Disaster Ministries responded at five project sites with 1,554 volunteers and served 158 families. A total of 89,344 hours of service were given for an estimated value of $1,676,987.
The value of $18.77/hour for volunteer time is based on the average hourly wage for non-agricultural workers, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, plus 12% for estimated benefits.

The Disaster Response Program also supported the Pacific Southwest District’s wildfire clean-up efforts in Julian, California; the Oregon and Washington District’s involvement in a flood recovery project in Washington State; and the Atlantic Northeast District’s clean-up efforts following the Campbelltown, Pennsylvania tornado.
