Congregational Commitment


"We want to join Christians around the world in supporting the
Decade to Overcome Violence."

In agreeing to participate in the Decade, a congregation commits itself to:
  • make a conscious effort to do peace education among its members and to work to reduce violence in its community, nation, and world;
  • call one or more members to coordinate its involvement in the Decade; and
  • lift up Christ’s call to peacemaking in worship and prayer.

Congregations making a committment to the Decade receive an introductory packet, will be invited to send a representative to a training event, and will receive ongoing support and encouragement from the DOV organizing office.
