Vital Ministry Journey (VMJ) is a process that empowers congregations in the Church of the Brethren. Vital Ministry Journey is for congregations whose leadership desires that their church recapture a dynamic vision and mission so as to live abundantly and be God’s blessing to its community.

“You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. . .
By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God. . .”
—Mt. 5.14-16 (The Message)

What is Vital Ministry Journey?

  • For all congregations of the Church of the Brethren.
  • An inspiring process that empowers and encourages congregations to live into a dynamic vision and abundant mission, sharing God’s blessing with its community.
  • Congregations of every size, context and location prayerfully and creatively envision what God wants to emerge through them.

“The process has evidently been carefully thought through and I especially appreciate the emphasis in inviting congregations to assess their readiness to participate. I've not seen so much care exercised over this aspect of a process before.”
—Stuart Murray Williams, Author & Consultant, The Anabaptist Network
