Deep Roots operates a homeless community called Clairvaux Farm, where we host up to ten families.Website: http://www.deeprootsinc.org/
Deep Roots Inc. mission is to end homelessness, one child and one family at a time. We provide transitional housing, food, and other services to homeless families with children. By supporting families to regroup, stabilize, and recover, we seek to rehabilitate families and help them to return to the community. Deep Roots houses up to 38 individuals, or about 12 families. Typically, about 60% of our residents are children.
Volunteers are essential to our work at Deep Roots, and we appreciate the difference volunteers can make. We especially need help this year with the Children’s Program as we seek to help children build their self-esteem through mentoring, tutoring, and homework help. We also need computer-savvy volunteers for IT support and to help tutor our residents to become computer literate. As always, Deep Roots needs help with daily operations such as administrative tasks, driving, and more.
Volunteers will have lots of opportunity to interact with, be positive role models to, and mentor our residents, and are encouraged to do so! If you are looking for a chance to make a real difference in people’s lives, this is the place for you!
