Job Descriptions

Blue Rose Ranch, Inc., is a horse rescue, training and rehabilitation facility. Our organization is one of the largest and most effective horse rescue operations in the region. Blue Rose Ranch fills an important need by providing a large facility for up to 50 horses at a time, and by rehabilitating and training these horses. Since we started full-scale operation in 2007, over 170 horses have found new homes through our organization.

We are looking for an equine-focused young adult to serve as Horse Care Worker to work and live at the ranch. The primary responsibility of this position is to ride and work with the horses so that they are more adoptable; the volunteer will also help provide care for the horses, such as feeding, watering, and grooming. We have a year-round youth riding program and a week-long horse introduction camp for area youth each June. The volunteer will assist with these programs as well as various ranch chores.

We have wonderful facilities, and the position comes with a large private living space, room and board, and some cash wages. It is an excellent opportunity for a high-quality, bright young person to have a great adventure and hands-on experience working with horses that have a variety of needs. The position will also provide insight into the operation of a successful non-profit organization.

Requirements include passion for animals and competent riding ability and experience. Experience with horse training is preferred. Social media knowledge and computer skills would be helpful but are not required. Volunteers should be in good health and physical condition.
