incredABLE works with children and adults who have an intellectual disability or autism and promotes their inclusion as active members of society. We offer a wide range of projects and services to provide social, recreational, and educational opportunities for people of all ages with learning disabilities. All our programs are age-specific, innovative, and inclusive.
incredABLE seeks full-time Volunteers to be actively involved in daytime, evening, and weekend programs for youth and adults. Volunteers should be enthusiastic about creating and supporting communities which offer a social outlet and other support for participants. Volunteers ensure that participants are engaged and gratified with activities and are socializing with other participants. Above all, volunteers ensure the safety of participants while providing any necessary support with communication, mobility, etc.
Other possible responsibilities include driving a 16-seat minibus, participating in overseas holidays, and assisting with fundraising or celebration events. Training is provided for all support and activities. incredABLE is an organization with many varied programs and interests, and volunteers can be used in a number of ways based on personal working styles, interests, and skills.
Volunteers should be committed, responsible, enthusiastic, friendly, and caring. We strive to ensure our participants have fun and enjoy their time with us, so volunteers should be dedicated to making each unique project an excellent experience for all involved. Other requirements include good communication skills, willingness to complete required training, and knowledge of or interest in intellectual disabilities and autism. Previous experience is not required, but a good attitude and willingness to learn are!
