Brethren Disaster Ministries (BDM) is a program of the Church of the Brethren that repairs and rebuilds homes for survivors of natural disasters across the United States.

Job Descriptions

BDM seeks a Disaster Project Leader to work at various domestic disaster recovery projects and to become part of the recovering community, helping to foster good relationships with short-term disaster response volunteers and the disaster survivors. The volunteer works with other disaster project leaders to form a leadership team. The leadership team is responsible for volunteer supervision, supply purchase, general worksite coordination, interagency relationships, and household management.

The volunteer should be at least 21 years old, willing to move around the country depending on assignment, and willing to represent the Church of the Brethren and to be a Christian witness. Other requirements include interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a valid driver’s license. Construction skills are helpful but not required.
