The Bernardo Kohler Center is a nonprofit organization providing legal, social and educational services. The U.S. Department of Justice grants authorization to qualified non-profit organizations which have the mission to provide low cost legal assistance with immigration law. Persons, who are not attorneys, are given authorization to practice immigration law as employees and volunteers of a designated non-profit.

The BKC was founded in 2001 and has been providing vital legal services to the Texas immigrant community. Its mission is to attain safety, respect, and justice for abused, abandoned, neglected juveniles, victims of crime, human trafficking, and asylum seekers. Its work centers on Special Immigrant Juvenile petitions, Crime Victims (U-Visa applications), Victims of Human Trafficking (T-Visa applications), and Asylum. BKC helps with family-based immigration cases and citizenship applications as well, with clients paying fees, but much less than paying a private attorney.

A Receptionist-Intake Assistant is needed to help with intake and other support work, mostly working directly with our clients and potential clients.
