BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The New Carlisle congregation began in 1864 when the Donnels Creek congregation purchased a Presbyterian Church building in New Carlisle. Meetings were held in this building beginning in 1882. In 1892, a new building was erected and in 1914 the New Carlisle members formed a new congregation separate from the Donnels Creek Church. Additions to the church building occurred in 1910, 1917, 1950, and 1958. (Brethren Encyclopedia, 926)
