History: June Adams Gibble served as Director of Congregational Nurture from 1988-1995.  Her title then changed to Director of Congregational Nurture and Worship (1996-1997).  She succeeded Shirley Heckman who was the People of the Covenant/Congregational Education/Mission Education/Guide for Biblical Studies director.  As director, her main goal was to provide congregations with resources for biblical studies, Christian education, and worship.  June continued to oversee the implementation of People of the Covenant such as finding volunteer covenant staff for districts and providing training events for local covenant leaders.  She also helped develop a new curriculum for children with the Brethren in Christ, Mennonites, and General Conference Mennonites which later became known as Jubilee.  June was liaison person from the Parish Ministries Commission (PMC) to Association of the Arts Church of the Brethren (AACB) and Church of the Brethren Association of Christian Educators (CoBACE).  Along with the Disciples of Christ (Christian Church) she planned Edu-Care retreats for church leaders and educators so they could become more effective leaders.  Her position was eliminated in 1997 due to the General Board reorganization. 

Description of the Records: The bulk of these records were created by Gibble.  They include correspondence, orders for Jubilee, Jubilee training events throughout the denomination, People of the Covenant training events, history of Jubilee and People of the Covenant, Edu-Care Leadership Training event plans, Junes employment with the General Board from 1977-1986, Christian educational resources, sermons, and workshop planning.  Also, there are three folders in the gray Hollinger box from Shirley Heckmans time on the Joint Educational Development Committee in 1983.
