BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Since one of the objectives of the Church of the Brethren for the 1990s was to help Brethren better articulate their identity, the General Board contracted with Communicorp (Atlanta, Georgia) to do research and shape proposals. The contract was made in late 1993 and during the winter and spring of 1994 Communicorp conducted interviews at the General Offices and in nine focus groups across the country--Illinois, California, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Carolina. In May of 1994 they presented a review and reflection paper which was circulated to selected members for their responses. On the basis of the research and responses, Communicorp developed a packet to help congregations present the Church of the Brethren. The packet became available in mid-1995. Members of the "Media Outreach Committee" which worked with Communicorp were Joan Deeter, Wendy McFadden, Paul Mundey, Howard Royer, and Dale Minnich (chair).

Two sets of the May 18 material were included. Since they were identical, one set was discarded. Thus this processed set contains only four file folders of materials.
