A Prayer for All Who Are Suffering in East Africa
O God our Heavenly Father,
We come to you in behalf of all our sisters and brothers in East Africa.
We cry out to you to help us to be one with all who suffer hunger, pain, death, and a sense of loss of hope.
We come humbly confessing our sin, the sin of paying so much attention to the fulfilling of our own cravings while paying so little attention to all who hurt and suffer through no fault of their own.
Teach us how to pray for our starving neighbors whose plight is beyond our comprehension. Show us what it means to be a caring sister and brother. Help us in the testing of our faith, and may our love be measured by our generosity which guides us in rightful sharing.
May our Christlike love and attitudes assist in the coming of thy Kingdom so that through it all your blessings will reach all who reach out to us.
In Jesus’ name and in Christlike love, as servants who humbly care.
Amen.
