Donald B. Kraybill has served as chair of the Sociology and Social Work Department at Elizabethtown College, director of the Young Center for Anabaptist and Pietist Studies, and provost of Messiah College in Grantham, Pa. He returned to Elizabethtown College in 2003, where he is distinguished college professor and senior fellow at the Young Center, and holds a joint appointment in the departments of sociology and religious studies.
Nationally recognized for his scholarship on Anabaptist groups, Kraybill is the author or editor of more than 20 books and dozens of professional articles. His most recent book is Amish Grace: How Forgiveness Transcended Tragedy.

Jane Thibault is a clinical gerontologist and clinical professor at the University of Louisville, and adjunct faculty for the Kent School of Social Work. Jane has published Understanding Religious and Spiritual Aspects of Human Service Practice and A Deepening Love Affair The Gift of God in Later Life. Her most recent book is 10 Gospel Promises for Later Life. She is a trained spiritual director and provides spiritual direction to senior adults. |
Wednesday Evening Celebration
Valerie Bridgeman Davis is associate professor of Hebrew Bible/ Homiletics and Worship at Memphis Theological Seminary. She is the founding director of the seminary’s The Return Beat: Syncopating Theology and the Arts Institute. She served as general editor and consultant for the United Methodist Church’s Africana Worship project. In addition, she leads the “Tribe,” a collective of young artists who use their art as a spiritual discipline in service to ending violence among young adults, especially gang members. She is an acclaimed published poet. |

Scott Sheperd is an author, speaker, and consultant who uses a humorous, non-traditional approach to focusing on stress. He challenges audiences to accept responsibility for their own lives, and gives them strategies to improve the quality of those lives. When it comes to working with issues around loss and grief and serious illness, Dr. Sheperd draws on his over twenty-five years experience working with people in difficult situations ranging from terminal illness to high-pressure jobs. He has recently completed a book called Who’s In Charge? Attacking the Stress Myth. |

Nancy Faus-Mullen is Professor Emerita of Bethany Theological Seminary, where she taught in Ministry Studies for 25 years and directed the seminary choir. She continues to teach, preach, and lead music and worship workshops. Nancy is a member and past president of the Hymn Society in the United States and Canada. |
Friday Morning Closing Celebration
Frank Ramirez is the pastor of the Everett (Pa.) Church of the Brethren. He is the author of several books, including The Meanest Man in Patrick County and Brethren Brush With Greatness, as well as “Out of Context,” a regular feature of the Guide For Biblical Studies. |
