Stories from around the globe demonstrate the need for healing, barriers that the church can put before individuals seeking healing, and ways the church can respond that can offer healing.
Healing Healthcare: A Study and Action Guide on Healthcare Access in the United States (2005) edited by Joseph J. Kotva Jr., Faith & Life Resources. This book contains essays from theologians, health care workers, professors and a lawyer about the realities of health care in the United States. This six-session resource is designed to help congregations respond with healing and hope as participants look at Bible study materials and study guides. Copies are available through Faith & Life Resources, a Mennonite Publishing House, for $5.99 each.

Readings for Reflection and Action by Jennifer Halteman Schrock, Program Partners of Advocate Health Care, Church World Service and Presbyterian Hunger Program. This book contains materials appropriate for personal reflection, worship and Sunday school study. Material World: A Global Family Portrait (1995, paperback edition) by Peter Menzel, Sierre Club Books, San Francisco. This book contains pictures of families around the globe displaying their personal belongings and capturing a story of the great differences between people's cultural views of wealth, poverty and affluence.
