“Therefore, I urge you…offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.” Romans 12:1

As part of our 300th Anniversary celebration, individuals and congregations are encouraged to take on the challenge to be fit for the journey as the Church of the Brethren.

Being well is a journey – of the body, mind and soul. Each step takes us to new places of discovery about ourselves. As we exercise our freedom to make healthy choices in how we use our body, tend our soul, and enrich our mind, we draw closer to the Creator.

You may choose to take this on as a personal goal for yourself, invite others to join you in a supportive group, or promote some healthy competition within your congregation or district!

It's Easy To Get Started
Individuals who attended the 2007 Annual Conference in Cleveland and completed their Passport to Wellness activities received a "Fit for the Journey" T-shirt. These 2007 T-shirts included a chart on the back to mark off 300 days of participation in the Anniversary Challenge. Individuals who were not at Annual Conference can still participate by downloading the same 300 Day Challenge chart. Click here to download a PDF file of the chart.

Make a mark with laundry pen on shirts in a square for each day that you engage in a good-for-you choice. Then, bring your completed shirt or paper chart to the ABC exhibit area at the 2008 Annual Conference in Richmond, Va., to receive a simple tool to help keep you on the path of wellness for a lifetime!

Keep in mind that the 300 days do not need to be consecutive and the more varied activities you mix in, the happier and healthier you’ll be! Post or hang your chart where you will see it and mark it daily, incorporating the challenge as part of your spiritual wellness and whole person development!

Invite church groups to do these activities together! We've created a 8.5- x 5.5-inch bulletin insert talking about the 300 Day Anniversary Challenge to help congregations promote this program and use it as a group activity. Simply download a copy of the bulletin insert by clicking here and copy it off for your congregation. Don't forget to register your group's activities with us here!

Please Register Your Participation
By registering that you are participating in the 300 day challenge, you will receive periodic notes of encouragement and we will check midway to see how everyone is doing! If you are part of a group effort, please write and let us know.
