The Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment (A.C.M.E.) began in 1973 by Drs. David and Vera Mace, a husband-wife team of experts in the field of marriage and family relationships. They saw a need for a resource to help couples sustain and improve their marriages. A.C.M.E. promotes effective communication to help couples increase intimacy, negotiate differences, express appreciation and deal creatively with emotions, especially anger. Programs lead couples to identify and develop their strengths, recognize and overcome their weaknesses, learn new family-life skills and promote growth of their relationship.
